Series Overview
The Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series SSD supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and NVMe 1.3, featuring Samsung’s in-house Phoenix controller and upgraded 5th generation 96-layer V-NAND TLC flash memory. Compared to the previous 64-layer V-NAND, this upgrade delivers improved performance and efficiency for mainstream consumer systems.
The 970 EVO Plus Series is available in four capacities: 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Each capacity is paired with LPDDR4 cache memory of 512MB, 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB respectively, offering endurance ratings of 150TBW, 300TBW, 600TBW, and 1,200TBW, backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
In terms of performance, the 970 EVO Plus delivers sequential read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 3,300 MB/s. Random read and write performance reaches up to 620K IOPS and 560K IOPS. Compared with the previous Samsung 970 EVO series, sequential write performance is improved by up to 32%, with noticeable gains in random performance as well.
